Melissa Anoh, MSW

Melissa Anoh currently serves as policy staff at the US House Committee on Financial Services. Melissa is originally from Maryland but claims Rwanda and Ivory Coast as her home. Being raised by a Rwandan mother, and navigating American outside culture, she quickly learned to equalize the two.

Prior to working for the committee, Melissa worked as a case manager in Maryland, providing services to women who lost housing in Montgomery County, Maryland. While working with women experiencing homelessness, she came to the insight of systemic barriers that prevented African-American women from attaining better housing. As a result, she personally devoted her career to advocate and bring change to those who were deprived of a better quality of life.

Melissa received her BSW from Mary Baldwin University and her MSW with a concentration in social change from the Catholic University of America.
